I agree with the above sentiment. I really, really like the idea. What we need to do then is decide who's going to go on what missions. Should we perhaps split up the Animorphs into two groups, one that does Phase 1 and the other does the Phase 2 mission? No idea what we'd do for Phase 3, but this would at least give everyone the chance to be involved in the mission somehow. [/font]

I like the way that it is set up, and if ideas are being tossed in on how to decide who goes then here is my thinking.
Phase 1: Since it is just a thread about being informed about something, then it would probably take just two to actual animorphs to do this thread. One of them being Sam if her parents are involved and the other two being those who can morph something extremely dangerous in case they get ambushed.
Phase 2: Those going can basically be decided by our current morph lists for our characters as some people may have the right morphs to pull it off without having to bring along someone who will need to get a new morph. I also like the idea of splitting the team in half for this mission, so those who don't go on this mission go on the underwater one.
Phase 3: Basically decided the same way as Phase 2 except with maximum damage being what they choose from.
This is just my thinking on this, but it can be done in a different way such as using new recruits mixed in with those that have more experience morphing.

I would definitely agree with this concept for splitting it up, and I like the idea of those who didn't go on the bugs mission getting to go on the water one. I feel like that gives everyone a chance to be involved. Here's my take on it: Phase 1: If her parents are involved, Sam is a must. Also, at least ONE of the leaders should go, just because they're the leaders and kind of should hear it first hand if at all possible. Other people is kind of up in the air, but there's that. Phase 2: I would definitely base this on our current morphs. That being said, I don't know that very many of us have bug morphs that totally wouldn't work... so it might be a matter of who has the best ones for the job and also who has the best land morphs for carrying things back. Examples: Kyle & Sam have dogs, which probably wouldn't work if we were traveling through vents. On the other hand Ashley's cat morph or Elijah's raccoon might be an option. Phase 3: Anyone not in Phase 2 should be a part of this. I know not all of them will have an appropriate water morph. I kind of suggest that these people get a mission morph. I know it's kind of not fair that the other half of the group doesn't, but... they'll get their chance down the road. This isn't the ONLY mission we'll be doing.

ok, so since Sam is a must for phaase 1, can I request to have her for phase 1 and phase 3? She's got a whale morph, so I think that may work unless its a smaller body of water, but if its not the ocean then Sam will just be in phase 1

I think Kiki has a good land morph for phase 2 so I'll volunteer her for that. Shiro might be fun to put into phase two, also. Imagine them encountering a scorpion while in bug morphs.
Javier can be put where needed, or maybe even omitted if there are too many other volunteers. Of course he could always help them choose their mission morph for phase 3.

Both Rue and Elijah have good landmorphs for Phase 2 (cat and raccoon respectively), so I can stick whoever there. I'd rather send Elijah there since he also has the firefly morph, and that can be useful if the mission is at night. Also, is there going to be a conga line down the vents?
As for Phase 3, Rue has the better water morph out of the two, so I'd rather have her in that one than Elijah. I'll make a collective list here so far for who's in what phase. I'll edit this as we get more concrete and people make their choices.
Phase One [/u]: Sam Ashley Phase Two[/u] Kiki [Land Morph] Shiro [Bug Morph] Elijah [Land Morph] Ashley [Land Morph] Phase ThreeSam [?] Rue Kyle Jack[/blockquote][/font]

CONGA LINE DOWN THE VENT!!! XD OMG, I had forgotten about that comment from Aftermath.
Ok. Well...
If possible the people in PHASE 1 should get to go one one of the missions, but if we think that's too many I can understand.
That said, Sam and I discussed the idea of Sarah passing the details of the water plot to Ashley and Sam while at a restaurant, under the guise of having a "ladies night."
That said, if Ashley gets to go on a mission as well, her cat morph would work well for the bug mission.
Kyle I think is better off on the water mission. His current water morph wouldn't be HORRIBLE, and if they got a new one it would be all the better.

Jack will probably be in Phase 3. He has his jumping spider and....that's about it really that could be used for it. He has a better water morph, a dolphin, so he would be better suited there.

So we had the Water Mission plot that we were going to do, and then the "Ladies Night" intel-gathering thread got stalled. Since it seems unsure whether Evelyn is coming back and Chris would like to move on with the plot, we're skipping the ladies night thread and acting as though what was supposed to happen in it did.
We are moving on now to the Phase 2 and Phase 3 threads. I realize starting both at once seems a little rushed, but it gives more people chances to find threads to post in. Also, I think we're shifting around a little what info was gained in the "Ladies Night" so that it becomes more necessary for the "Tactical Phase 2" and "Water Mission Phase 3" to occur simultaneously.
I want to make sure everyone is on board (or is still on board) for this and then get going on it ASAP if we are.

Another possible idea I had recently:
Some animorphs and some yeerks are forced to team up temporarily in order to combat a common threat.
Oh, and something else popped into my head just now. What if the animorphs' wildlife refuge has a big snake that is a taxxon nothlit NPC? I'm not sure what the value of that would be (maybe the taxxon could be the one teaching Javier to speak Galard?), but I thought it sounded interesting so I figured I would throw it out there and see what people think.

Excellent ideas! Any ideas as to what the common threat could be? Would it be another alien species or does someone else have something in mind?
I really like the idea of the Taxxon nothlit; Yeerk nothlits in general are very interesting to me. Besides teaching Galard, it could potentially be very valuable in teaching them about Yeerk technology. If I remember right Taxxon-Controllers were usually the pilots of ships and whatnot due to their dexterity.
