Ashley had gotten the message from Eric about finding Kyle's signal, and she'd been informed that Jack and Sam were already on their way to help. She had be incredibly glad it hadn’t come until after they’d gotten morphs for Rue, because she if it had she would have had a hard time choosing between her duties as a leader and being there to help save her twin brother. Javier and Rue might have understood if she’d left them to get the morphs without her, but that didn’t mean she’d have felt good about it. Plus they could probably use all the help they could get. Even Rue, who was brand new, could help them out. They didn’t know what kind of situation Kyle was in, and what it might take to save him from his captors. She reached the point that Eric had said Kyle was at, seeing Jack, Sam, and the van with the controllers. Kyle must have been in there. She flew down the same alley Sam had darted down, only she was going there to demorph. As she landed, she asked Sam in private thought speak <What’s the situation?> It wasn’t like she couldn’t ask Jack, but with the controllers there and the distance he was at it would be a risk for him to answer. Sam could answer without anyone overhearing, or at least anyone that they didn’t want to know. As Ashley started to demorph she sent a message to those that had come with her. <Find a place to demorph. Depending on how things go we may need to come charging to the rescue.> Then to Jack. <I’m here. Sam’s filling me in on the details.> After that her mouth formed to a human’s, and she lost the ability to thought speak that came from being in morph. She finished her demorph and waited to figure out what the plan would be. Just keep positive. Kyle is here, he’s human, and he hasn’t been infested. We’re going to get him back. For his sake she had to keep her head in the game right now. Those yeerks will regret trying to capture my brother.

<What’s the situation?>
The golden dog jumped in surprise as she heard Ashley's voice in her head. The sight of the bird distracted her from her hunt for a sharp object as her doggie instincts started to scream BIRD! BIRD! BIRD! and the dog snorted in annoyance. <Well, there are three controllers and four captives, including Kyle. The van isn't moving, but I figured I do not want them to get away so I am looking for something sharp to slash the tires. Makes things easier when they can't go anywhere, right? Is Jack alright? I heard the doors open a minute ago.>
The dog sniffed around the alleyway, catching the faint whiff of metal and soon she darted over to a dumpster where the smell came from. It was not dumpster metal, but some other kind. The dog wagged her tail as she caught sight of the item under the dumpster and she internally grinned. Perfect!
<Find a place to demorph. Depending on how things go we may need to come charging to the rescue.>
The dog's ears perked up at the order, turning to see Ashley back in human form and she nodded. She ducked behind the dumpster, keeping herself out of sight, and sending Jack one last message before she demorphed. <I swear, if they catch you along with Kyle I will go in there and kill everyone. Especially you.> she commented, her bones reshaping as she soon changed into her human form. The girl reached under the dumpster and soon grabbed ahold of the item she had seen earlier, a swiss army knife. Thank GOD. The girl showed the item to Ashley and made a shabbing motion towards a broken tire nearby, hoping that the blonde would catch her drift. This was the thing she planned to use on the tires. Thankfully she found it. Did it even work? She had no idea, but it was worth a shot.
She waited until she was not going to be seen and she darted across the alley to Ashley's side. "It's going to be alright Ashley, don't worry. Besides, I already have first dibs on beating him upside the head once we get him back. He has no choice but to be rescued by us," she smiled, giving her friend a nudge as she soon peeked out from their hiding place to make sure Jack was alright.

I'll stick with being clever, thank you. --
Elijah was liking the people that he was captured with more and more. American spirit, that's what they had. The other man wasn't afraid to be quite rude to the one holding the weapon, and the girl was still holding her position last time he checked. Wait a second, was the Animorph saying something? Yes he was, but not so he could hear it. He looked at the Animorph as he mouthed the words, then raised an eyebrow. 'They're here'? Who was they? What was he-- oh right, yes. Back-up. The people that were going to save their very lives, or hopefully.
Elijah pretended he didn't see what the Animorph said, and chose to build on what the other man was spitting back at the Yeerks. "Oh yes, that'd be good if you did that. Quite honestly, did you expect everything to go smoothly once you captured more people? If I had been you, which won't ever happen because I wouldn't ever be an imbecile, I would have captured the Animorph and made off with him. But of course, you had to be greedy. 'Oh look, random people on the street. Let's capture them and make off with them too, slowing us down and possibly getting us into a mess.' At least you did get one accurate part of being an American down."
This was merely for stalling, and he knew that. Based on how the Controller with the gun acted, he wasn't going to shoot them. He was going to get frustrated with them, but not actually shoot. No, far too much to risk doing that. He was doing something with keys and cursing up a storm. That was another accurate part of being American down-- they must have down their research. Either that, or they had been here before.
Meanwhile, Nefla couldn't say he was pleased with this. This wasn't going anywhere near as planned, and the hostage situation was growing worse. Things could never be simple, could they? He sighed, then got out of the driver's seat, hitting the pavement with his boots. He started walking toward the back of the van, ignoring Mektra's swearing-- Yeerk could be so impatient and temperamental. His Dracon beam was on his belt. Unlike Mektra, he wouldn't hesitate in shooting at least one of these hostages. Maybe all of them if they kept this up.
Or, he could spy another Animorph in their midst, in human form. Oh this was too perfect. Was he trying to be sneaky, clever? He must have known that his friend was here. This could work out to his advantage. Instead of going to the back of the van with the rest, he raised his Dracon beam at Jack. That's who it was, and he knew it. He knew who all of the Animorphs were.
"Don't move," he commanded, coming closer. "Came to save your friend? Seemed you fell for the trap. You're coming with us now." He grabbed Jack, keeping the gun aimed at him at all times, and walked over the van that they were opening now. "Look which punk kid decided to join the party," he said to his two colleagues, "We just might get two Animorphs out of this situation."

Well that was quite an unexpected turn of events. The controllers had not only taken Kyle, but they had three other captives. What had they been thinking? Didn’t the controllers stop to think they’d try to get him back? Certainly they should have been smart enough to get him back to wherever their base was, should have not wanted to risk the chance that they’d lose such a valuable captive. Clearly they hadn’t thought it through well enough. Well, that works to our advantage. We get Kyle, and maybe a few more recruits on top of that.Sam must have known she was upset, because she came over and gave her a small smile, telling her they’d get Kyle back. Ashley couldn’t help smiling a little at the comment about beating him upside the head. Maybe she was a little over protective of him now, but considering all the lost time when she’d barely acknowledge his existence… she’d finally gotten her brother back, so she wasn’t about to lose him again. If the yeerks wanted to try, they’d get quite a fight. “Yeah, you do that. He needs to stop acting like he’s invincible.” She paused before adding. “Thanks, Sam.” She’d needed that, needed to keep from feeling like this mission was all doom and gloom and disaster. But there was a question that hadn’t been answered, the one about how Jack was. He’d been fine when Ashley had flown over, but that had been before the controllers had tried to climb out. She didn’t know anymore, and she peeked out from her hiding spot to see. From what she could see, things weren’t good, far from that in fact. “Jack’s in trouble. He got spotted, and they’re trying to capture him too.” It was probably one of the worst things that could have happened. Then again, that meant that the doors to the back of the van were open. If there was ever a time to come charging in and save the day, this was definitely an appropriate one. They just had to take out the two controllers, and somehow deal with the third that was still in the front of the van. “Time to call in the cavalry, but I think, I hope, that if they see us charging out there they’ll get the picture. I’d love to morph, but I’m not sure we have time before this whole thing blows up like a stick of dynamite.” True, charging in there while not being morphed was kind of insane. Then again the situation was kind of going to hell in a hand basket as it was, so what was a little insanity on top of that?

"Time to call in the cavalry, but I think, I hope, that if they see us charging out there they’ll get the picture. I’d love to morph, but I’m not sure we have time before this whole thing blows up like a stick of dynamite."
Sam's eyes widened as she caught sight of the driver, not really reacting to Ashley's words. He had seen Jack. The driver had seen Jack. The girl tensed as the controller walked over, threatening Jack with his gun and walking him to the back of the van. She should not have left him there! What was she thinking?! This was all her fault! She could not really hear what the man said for the first few sentences, but the last one was what got a rise out of the brunette.
"We just might get two Animorphs out of this situation."
"Over my dead body," Samantha growled, immediately reacting. The girl dropped the pocket knife, grabbing a two-by-four and sprinting out of the alleyway. She came up behind the controller, hoisting the piece of wood high over her head and she brought it down on his head, hearing his scull crack under the blow. The girl immediately was on her toes after the man fell to the ground, throwing the wooden object into the van, hitting the other male controller square in the forehead and the man crumpled to the floor of the van.
Sam grabbed a hold of Jack, pulling him close and checking for any sort of injuries he may have acquired in the scuffle. She did not hit any of the captives, she knew that. She had been working on her aim for years. A piece of wood would not throw her off right now. She held his face in her hands, unaware of the third controller making her way towards them from inside the van. "Please tell me you're alright or I'll never forgive myself," she whispered, searching his eyes to see if he was telling her the truth.
Looking into Jack's eyes caused her to catch a glimpse of the woman in her peripheral vision. The girl caught sight of a human gun in the woman's hand and she gasped, pushing Jack to the ground as the woman aimed and pulled the trigger. Sam staggered in place, not sure if the woman hit her until the controller started laughing at her and she took another shot. Sam felt it this time. The girl let out a screech as the second bullet hit her and she crumpled to the ground. Breathing heavily, Sam felt the precious liquid start to spill out from her abdomen and onto the pavement beneath her. She couldn't die now! She had to save Jack! She had to save the others! It was too hard to morph. It hurt too bad. She could barely think over the roaring in her ears. Coughing, Sam felt her throat hurt as she looked down to see the red liquid had escaped her lips as well. Great, now she was really bad off. Coughing up blood was never a good sign. Curling up as tightly as she could, Sam clutched her stomach and hoped to God that her guts would not fall out. Well, who knew that "over my dead body" could be taken literally? Focusing on Jack and Ashley, the girl narrowed her eyes in frustration as she tried to form words, finding her voice as she coughed up more blood "Jack... Run... Ashley... Make sure... Nothing happens... To Jack..."

Jack breathed a small sigh of relief. Ashley had finally made it. Good, so now it wasn't just Sam and him to the rescue. He heard Ashley tell him that Sam was filling her in. He gave a small no of recognition, unable to really respond at the moment. Now all they had to do was get those people and Kyle out of the van safe and sound. However, that proved to be easier said than done as he felt the familiar sensation of a dracon beam to his head. Oh, and the typical Yeerk gloating. How could anyone forget to mention that?
He let himself be led to the controller with a grin. "Who says I fell into a trap? Maybe I did it on purpose," he taunted. The past two years had taught Jack that though a controller could dish it out, they could never stand it when one gloated and taunted back at them. Bunch of damn hypocrites. He could tell the one was ready to deck him one, when all of a sudden he was knocked out by a two-by-four. It looked like it hurt. He then saw the wood fly past and hit another one of the controllers in the van.
It didn't take long to figure out who had knocked the two controllers out, as she was soon in front of him. Sam had grabbed a hold of his face checking him for any injuries. He gave her a small smile. "I'm fine, not a scratch on me," he told her. He appreciated the help, but he wished she wouldn't be so reckless all the time, he could have handled it. She didn't need to jump to his rescue all the time. He was a leader for a reason, right?
However, he didn't get a chance to explain this as Sam soon pushed Jack to the ground and that's when he heard a shot ring out. Then another. He saw as Sam fell to the ground. No, no, no that wasn't supposed to happen. That couldn't be happening right now. He needed to make sure Sam was okay. No, first he needed to make sure that last controller wasn't going to shoot off another shot. He was starting to panic, but then thankfully saw the one fallen controller's dracon beam nearby. He hoped it was on the stun setting, since he wasn't going to have time to change it.
Jack dived for it and with the dracon in his hand, aimed it at the controller with the gun. It hit square on and she fell. It looked like he was lucky and it knocked her unconscious instead of vaporizing her. Though at the same time he almost wished it had. He dropped it and quickly went over to Sam. He had been careless, not paying enough attention. He dropped down by her noticing she had coughed up some blood. He was starting to panic. "C'mon, Sam. Morph!" he told her, knowing it was really the only thing that could be done. If she morphed, she would live. "Don't die, Sam. Don't you die on me!" He was doing his best to hold back tears, though some escaped. He didn't like seeing Sam like this in the slightest. "Please....I need you..." he said softly. "You can't die...Not now. Please not now..."

There really wasn't any excusable reason for Evvie to be so late. She should have been able to resist, should have been able to push herself to keep flying. Instead, she had stopped to inspect the pishing. Twice. Why it was even called that, she would never know. It was a stupid name for a stupid sound that she had stupidly followed. But it really wasn't her fault that catbirds were so attracted to it. No, it was all her fault. Everyone was probably dead and the others would blame her. Evvie mentally scolded herself as she neared the spot where she hoped the others were. Knowing her luck, they wouldn't even be there anymore. After several more moments, however, she spotted the van. Before she could fly lower, though, an air current whipped to life and drew her higher. Cursing her rotten luck, Evvie had to keep to the current and wait it out. Thanks to that, she was able to see everything that happened, but wasn't able to actually do anything. So she watched her cousin get shot without being able to help in anyway. <Samantha Nicole James, if you die on me I am going to find a way to bring you back to life and kill you myself!> Evvie usually didn't use thought speak, finding it easier to just simply use body language. In some cases, though, it proved very useful. <Get your butt up and morph, stupid!> Once she was able to, Evvie glided closer to the ground and morphed, making her way over to Sam as quickly as she could. She stopped suddenly when she was about a foot or two away from both Sam and Jack. Rage flared through her, quick and hot, and she needed to aim it somewhere. Badly. Her eyes narrowed as they settled on Jack. Yelling at him wouldn't help Sam, but it would make her feel better. Then it hit her. She knew Sam extremely well, and there was a very large chance that Sam wasn't going to morph in time to save her life. But if Evvie yelled at the one person Sam cared a lot for... It was a long shot, but it was all that Evvie could think of. Glaring daggers at Jack, she rounded on him and let him have it, or a piece of it at least. "You! Don't. Move," she ground out. While she really wanted to continue yelling at him, it was more important for her to help the others out first. Only a little more important, though. She pushed her rage to the back of her mind, letting it fester, while she stalked away from Jack and toward the van. Without making a sound, she motioned for everyone who was still in the van to exit it. Once everyone had piled out, she gave them all a quick once over visually. Evvie was relieved that none of them seemed to be too banged up, but only slightly. She left them for Ashley to take care of then headed back over to Jack and Sam. Her rage had simmered down a tad, but she wasn't going to let that stop her. For her plan to work, she needed to seem extremely pissed at jack. "This is all your fault! You should have been paying better attention. But no, you must have been off in la-la-land or something. Did you not see the gun or something? I was at least thirty feet in the air and I could even see it. You should have anticipated what Sam was going to do. You should have known how sam felt about you! You're so stupid, not picking up on it." By this point, Evvie was just ranting. She was also having a hard time keeping her face straight. Her stomach hurt from containing her laughter and giggles. The rage was completely gone. She was only yelling to get a rise out of Sam.

Dying was SUCH a pain in the ass. It was not even funny. The girl groaned as she felt a throb of pain shoot through her and she wanted to cry. It was times like these when one would be like GIVE ME DRUGS! MAKE THE PAIN GO AWAY! but Sam could barely think let alone speak at this point. She wondered if childbirth hurt as much as her abdomen did at this present time. She winced as another wave of pain shook her body and she gasped for air. Now everything was getting cold. She could not hear her cousin's demands, nor did she hear the gun go off when Jack hit the controller, all she could hear was the dull roar in the back of her mind that had greatly increased in volume. Oh lord, this was it. Dying on a rescue mission. How cliche. The girl was about to close her eyes and let her body rest when she sensed someone drop down beside her. She squinted, looking up to see none other than Jack. She blinked in surprise, feeling her heart jump at the sight of him--much like it always did before.
"Don't die, Sam. Don't you die on me!"
Sam felt her eyes sting as she heard Jack try and get her to morph. She wanted to, so badly, but she couldn't. Her body was refusing to do anything except lie there, bleeding out. She tried to form words... At least that would be something... She wanted him to know it would be alright... That she would be okay... She just wanted to sleep, honestly. She was exhausted since she held on this long. She avoided his gaze, only to look and see water hit the pavement from where he was perched above her. She stared at the droplets in confusion, her body fighting to sleep more than ever but she wanted to know the reason for the water. Was it going to rain? What was going on? Brown eyes focused upwards, only to see that Jack was crying. Why... Would he cry over her? She wasn't special like Ashley. She was just the pain in the ass they recruited two years ago, so why would he...?
"Please....I need you... You can't die...Not now. Please not now..."
Brown eyes widened in shock at his words, her heart accelerating as she tried to process what he was saying. Jack needed her? What? She thought it was only Ashley and Kyle he needed... He... Needed her...? She winced once again as a throb of pain racked her small body, the cold feeling returning once again as she looked up at him. No. She refused to die without letting him know... He needed to know if she wasn't going to make it... How she felt... She focused all her strength and slowly was able to raise a shaking hand to Jack, resting her palm on his cheek as her thumb stroked away his tears. "Don't... Cry... Blue Eyes... Can't... Stand it... When... You cry..." she whispered, feeling her own eyes water as she tried to keep herself here. A larger wave of pain overcame her and she gasped slightly, curling up tighter at the feeling as she kept her hand on Jack. He was warm... Unlike her. She reveled in the warmth that he gave off, stroking his cheek to try and calm him. It broke her heart to see him cry, especially if it was over her. Her arm tensed, slowly pulling Jack closer to her so she could talk a little quieter and not have to force herself too much. Brown eyes searched blue, trying to find some way of focusing enough to morph so she could get rid of those tears for good, but it was harder to concentrate now. These precious moments seemed endless, but it just meant she was nearing her end.
"Jack... I'm... Sorry... Please... Don't cry..." she choked out, feeling her eyelids getting heavier as she fought to stay awake. She sensed her cousin approaching, and she breathed out those three words, but they did not come out as loud as she had wanted. She was barely sure if Jack had even heard her, but soon enough, her arm went limp and fell to the ground. All she could do now was listen to the world around her. Everything else was failing. Her ears perked up at the sound of Evvie yelling, and the girl focused on the sound to try and pick up what her cousin was ranting on about.
"--You should have been paying better attention. But no, you must have been off in la-la-land or something. Did you not see the gun or something? I was at least thirty feet in the air and I could even see it. You should have anticipated what Sam was going to do. You should have known how sam felt about you! You're so stupid, not picking up on it."
Her eyes narrowed slightly. No. She was NOT going to die while Evvie was yelling at Jack. She loved the boy too much to let her cousin rip him apart with her words while she died. That was the last thing she wanted. Why? Because Jack was terrified of being seen as an ineffective leader. She knew that. If Evvie kept this up this could possibly destroy Jack.
A low growl rose from deep in her throat, her eyes forcing themselves open as brown changed into a threatening gold. She winced as she felt her bones reshaping, reforming and expanding around her. She was angry, and she was focused. Usually for things like this, she would morph into Sandy, but her desire to live and protect Jack from his fears forced the animal from deep inside her. The Golden Tiger. She forced herself onto her hands and knees, the blood dripping beneath her as it seemed every part of the animal formed except for the abdomen until the very last second. Sam felt the pain leave her and soon her mind was coated in rage. The tiger rounded on the blonde girl, growling angrily as she stood between Jack and Evelyn. <How DARE you?!> she mentally roared, her thought speak basically on speaker to everyone in the van, Ashley, Evvie and Jack. <I do not care if that was your plan in the first place, but you KNOW his fears, and you decided to use that against him to get to me?! That's low, Evvie.>
Sure, she appreciated the sentiment, but she was pissed now. She knew Jack was afraid of three things, drowning, being buried alive, and being seen as an ineffective leader. The third was something he seemed the most afraid of. Samantha took a step back, still seething, and soon she demorphed back into human form. Everything reshaped and recolored to their correct settings and Samantha soon stood on her own two feet. Not a scratch on her. She refused to look at Jack, glaring at Evvie as she leaned against the van and felt the tears well up in her eyes once again. She almost died. She was so close! The thought of that terrified her. Samantha had always been afraid of dying and death, it was part of her nature, and now that she had been through it, well... She was falling apart. She wrapped her arms around herself, staring at the ground as she cried. She was scared, and she did not know what to do. Sure, she was safe now, but what if it happens again? And what if it happened to someone she loved?

It seemed like he was the only crazy one as Kiki didn’t say anything and the demorphed Animorph was making mouth signs that Richard didn’t understand. There were not many things that could be done by any of them but it seemed like they were at a standstill until someone made a game changing move that could lead to some real results. Unfortunately, this move came in the form of the final Controller coming to the back of the van to open the cage door, which didn’t make sense as it would allow the four of them rush the guy if necessary.
This seemed to spark a series of unfortunate events as another Animorph was captured, which didn’t bode well to a rescue attempt. This was soon followed by a girl coming out of nowhere to knock out their two male captors, which was sort of a good thing if that didn’t leave the crazy chick that was still in the van. It was at this point that the woman had begun firing at the rescuers, and Richard did the only thing that he could which was to make himself a small target so he didn’t get hit.
Eventually the shooting seemed to stop, but then a lot of yelling happened. This made Richard think that there was an ongoing battle that was occurring, and now he was ticked that he wasn’t involved in the fight. Of course, he opened his eyes to see that it was actually three of their rescuers having a serious argument with one of them being a tiger. “Hey! Do you think that you three could rip each other a new one later and get us out of the van? Just thought I would toss that out there.” He didn’t know if they were listening, but his hands were beginning to hurt and he figured that everyone else would rather not be caged like an animal any longer than necessary.

Three people waiting in a van here, waiting to be freed. --
Nothing ever came of words, only actions.
The third Yeerk that was supposed to come to the back of the van attempted to come with yet another captive, another Animorph no less. That's all he could truly hear, anyway. That must have been one of their rescuers, which certainly made things look awful for Elijah and the others in the van. Was this how the Animorphs planned to rescue them, storm in and expect the Yeerks to simply fall apart? After seeing how they nearly took over England, nearly being the key word since that island would never fall under anyone's full control in his opinion, Elijah knew it wasn't going to be that simple. They had to have more than this as their plan.
The rest could almost just be classified as noise. From what he could see, two of the Yeerks were hit with a wooden object. The other though, that woman that had the gun aimed at them all this time, was still there. She fired the gun, and that's all Elijah was able to see. After that, a short moment of quiet talking. Then, yelling. Lots of yelling. The yelling in his head by what he assumed was a female Animorph was particularly loud. Yes, he couldn't say he appreciated that.
His fellow prisoner made a fine point, one that he wasn't going to bother to elaborate on. It wasn't as if anyone in the van could truly do anything at the moment. If the Animorphs didn't do something other than yelling at one another, then nothing was going to happen, and Elijah truly didn't like having a stalemate. This cage was rather tight for someone his height, and he was growing quite sore from being in it this long.

After the message from Sam, things kind of slowly went from bad to worse. The controllers decided they were getting pissed off at the girl, and neither of the other male captives was exactly making them happy by making comments. Then again, the tactic wasn’t a bad thing. Kyle knew from experience that the best way to get the upper hand when it came to controllers was to piss them off, because none of them seemed to have very well controlled tempers. In this case, one of them was particularly hot-headed and had decided to get out of the vehicle.
That was where things fell apart, and he had no clue why. How little planning had been done when it had come to this rescue mission? Because right now it seemed like they were just improvising. Jack had been seen and spotted, and the yeerks were acting like they were going to throw him into the already crammed van. He couldn’t see what was going on, aside from managing a glimpse of Jack’s face. And from there he had to guess. There was a sound of someone being hit over the head. Another matching sound followed that. That meant there were two controllers down, and the woman in the front was the only one left.
That shouldn’t have been a bad thing, but he heard her get out. After that he heard gunshots. His immediate thought was that someone had been hit, one of his friends. Jack had been there. Sam had too. He started to struggle a little against the woman’s hold, though he couldn’t do too much without risking a wound to the neck.
“Jack?! Sam?!” He called out their names. Then there was that gut wrenching moment when he remembered that Ashley was supposed to be there too. “Ashley?!” During that he could hear a dracon beam firing and then Jack shouting. ”C’mon, Sam. Morph!”
Then there was more shouting, the new voice belonging to Evvie, Sam’s cousin, berating Jack. She was blaming him for what had happened. Kyle had two reactions. The first was to feel like this wasn’t Jack’s fault, but his. He was the idiot who’d gotten himself captured after all. The second was to be pissed, and if he could have gotten out of the van and done something… well, he was pretty certain he’d have punched her. Regardless of his morals and being raised to be a gentleman, to not hit a girl, he was not about to let her chew him out like that.
While Kyle didn’t get the chance to say or do anything, Sam’s voice echoed rather loudly in his head. She was yelling at Evvie. While he was more than willing to let Sam chew out her cousin for what she’d done, regardless of whether it hadn’t really been meant and had only been to get a rise out of Sam - yelling at each other wasn’t going to really get him and the other captives out of the cage. “Sam, Evvie, you two can kill each other later. We need a little help in here right now.”

"“Hey! Do you think that you three could rip each other a new one later and get us out of the van? Just thought I would toss that out there.”
“Sam, Evvie, you two can kill each other later. We need a little help in here right now.”"
"Kyle..." Sam blinked, hearing her friend's voice from inside the van. The girl jumped up, not bothering to wipe the tears from her face, and scrambled into the van. She quickly grabbed the keys the controller she hit dropped and unlocked the cages, pulling each person out slowly. She got to the dark-haired boy with his arms behind his back and she turned him around. This was obviously the impatient one that yelled at them a minute ago and quickly undid the knots around his wrists. "Happy? Get out and stay with them," she commented, her voice ice cold as she let the other man out and soon came to the cage with Kyle in it. She blinked and soon turned to where she knew Ashley would be and motioned for the blonde girl. "Your brother, you get him outta that one. The girl scares me."
Jumping out of the truck, Sam handed off the keys to Ashley and caught sight of Jack, soon the girl turned red and avoided his gaze, inching away from him. ((its short, but I'm helping matt out))

She had been kind of hoping to avoid trauma and hysteria in the rescue, but things had gotten out of hand fast. They hadn’t counted on what the captives inside were doing, and clearly they were pissing the yeerks off. They’d gotten out, Jack had been seen, and Sam had charged to the rescue with Ashley close behind. She’d stopped only a moment to grab the knife that Sam had dropped. When she came running in, there were gunshots and Sam and Jack going down. The next thing Ashley knew the gun was being aimed at her… And then the female controller wielding the gun was hit by a dracon blast, the source being the beam in Jack’s hand. Without hesitation she was over by the sides of her two comrades. Jack looked fine. Sam… Sam was another story. She’d taken both of the bullets. Ashley… Make sure… Nothing happens… To Jack…” The words stunned her for a moment, and then it kind of dawned on her. She’d never seen it. Two years and she’d never realized exactly what had been going on there. Did Jack feel the same? His words were all the answer Ashley needed. ” Don’t die, Sam. Don’t you die on me!” He was nearly in tears. ”Please… I need you… You can’t die… Not now. Please not now…” It couldn’t end like this… Evvie to the rescue then, because as pissed off as the comments made Ashley, she knew exactly what the other girl was trying to do. She did her best to ignore her instinct to shout back. It had worked. Maybe it didn’t justify the means, but Sam had morphed and was alive… shouting back at Evvie. “Hey! Do you think that you three could rip each other a new one later and get us out of the van? Just thought I would toss that out there.”
“Sam, Evvie, you two can kill each other later. We need a little help in here right now.”Her brother’s voice sparked a reaction in her, and she and Sam went around to the back of the truck to help Kyle and the other captives out. The first thing Ashley’s eyes fell on the was the woman holding a sharp hair stick to Kyle’s neck. She heard Sam say, "Your brother, you get him outta that one. The girl scares me."Clearly she was the one who had to get Kyle out of whatever mess this was he was in. She could only think of one thing to say as she unlocked them, so that was what she went with. “I’m going to kindly ask you to stop threatening to stab my brother.”

“I’m going to kindly ask you to stop threatening to stab my brother.”
Kiki had been in a daze and the woman's voice snapped her back to reality. "What?" Kiki looked at the hair stick she was still holding to the animorph's throat. "Oh. Sorry." Kiki finally allowed her grip to relax as she tossed her hair stick limply to the floor in front of them. It seemed they had survived after all. In one piece and uninfested.
Kiki allowed herself to slouch into a corner of the van, unsure of how to handle her newly regained freedom. It had been less than half an hour since she had spotted Richard from atop that breezy Seattle hillside, but already it seemed like it had been an eternity.
Eventually Kiki mustered up the energy to crawl out of the van. Out of the prison. However, once outside she merely loitered near the rear doors with her arms crossed. What were they supposed to do now? Go about their days and try to forget this had ever happened? Kiki had come to Seattle to find a way to help push back the invasion, but she was far from sure that it was still what she wanted to do.
For now she was content to simply watch and listen.

Jack felt so helpless. There wasn't anything he could do besides encourage Sam to morph and hope she did in time. However, she seemed more concerned with him, telling him not to cry. How could he not? Sam was knocking on death's door and she didn't seem to be able to concentrate on morphing. Sam was beginning to feel colder and colder. Why wouldn't she morph? They- No, He needed her to morph. He wouldn't be able to stand it if this was how it ended for her. This wasn't supposed to happen, it shouldn't have happened.
It was then that Evvie happened to arrive. He would have barely registered it if not for the fact that she had started yelling at him and blaming him for what happened to Sam. He was left speechless and he couldn't really argue it. He felt like it was his fault already, having someone say it out loud only validated it in his mind. Though he did take notion of her mentioning how he should have known how Sam felt about him. What was that supposed to-? Then it hit him. God he was stupid. Why hadn't he noticed it? Why now when it was too late?
Thankfully, Sam seemed to respond to Evvie and had morphed into a tiger. It took him a moment to register that too, but once she demorphed it kicked in fully. She was alive. He let go of a breathe he hadn't noticed he was holding and got up off the ground. Though now he was a bit at a loss of what to do. After all before all this they were supposed to be rescuing Kyle and whoever else was in the van weren't they? His legs didn't seem to want to move at the moment though. He was too busy being relieved and thinking. Why hadn't he noticed how she felt? Hell, he didn't even know how he felt until just now.
When he finally snapped out of his thoughts, it seemed like the others had gotten the people out of the van already and Sam was nearby, looking embarrassed and inching away from him. He went over to her and kissed her. He didn't really think about it too much, but he didn't really have a way with words and this would say all he needed to say. He then hugged her and said,"Don't scare me like that again." Unfortunately, he couldn't stay like this for very long, after all he was a leader and they needed to get out of here soon. The Yeerks would notice when one of their vans didn't show up to drop off any humans. He put a finger on his earpiece. "Eric, we need a pickup," Jack then looked over at everyone else, making sure they were all okay. It looked like there were three other people besides Kyle who had been kidnapped. It looked like some introductions would need to be made.
