Kiki sat in a corner of the vehicle's cage and watched it get locked up. For the most part she ignored the barking dog and the stranger, even the woman with the gun, and tried to think of a way to tell Richard how sorry she was for getting him into this mess. However, her attention snapped immediately to the dog when the lady called it an Animorph. Her eyes went wide as the dog "spoke," confirming the woman's claim.
An Animorph? Here? Kiki's first thought was that it was one of the famous animorphs from the history books. It sounded male, so either Jake, Marco, or even Tobias the bird. But then she realized it was probably just someone like herself. A random person who got the morphing power as a controller in the last invasion and was trying to play superhero now.
The vehicle jerked forward as they began moving. Absentmindedly, Kiki put her fingers up to the wound on her neck. It was bleeding, but barely. She would be fine. Looking from person to person to dog, then finally locking eyes with the woman with the gun, Kiki asked the other prisoners, "So how do we get out of this mess? What's the escape plan?" The armed woman scowled, obviously not happy that Kiki hadn't even attempted to hide that she was trying to form an escape plan.

Plan still in progress. --
The dog started barking when the two new prisoners came in, obviously not thrilled by the situation. These people, which he was just going to call Yeerks since that was what they seemed to be, didn't have much more room to put prisoners in. Why pick up these two then? They didn't look particularly extraordinary, though one never knew in a place like thius. He wasn't exactly extraordinary either. What could the Yeerks want with three ordinary people and a dog?
Well, the dog was an Animorph. That was rather important.
Elijah forced himself to hide his glee at finding exactly what he was looking for: an Animorph! That was wonderful! That was... horrible since they were in the back of a moving vehicle going who knows where with a woman aiming a gun at them. Again, this was not how he planned things to go. The van started moving again, the Animorph speaking to all of the prisoners. If they didn't reach their destination soon, he would become human again. Oh yes, that could pose a problem in their current predicament.
The woman prisoner spoke next, wondering how they were going to get out of this. She had the nerve to say it in front of the woman with the gun too-- very brave of her. Elijah looked around for a second, glancing at all of the prisoners, before he spoke. "Don't have much of one right now," he started to say, "But if I'm right, and I often am not to sound horribly arrogant, then they're not going to get any other prisoners-- already have us squished here. When we get to wherever they're taking us, and before they attempt anything, that's our window. Can't try and escape from here-- that'd just be stupid."
It wasn't much of a plan really, but it was something. Personally, he wanted to find out what these Yeerks were going to do. However, with other people involved, it'd probably be best to wait until later. Meanwhile, the Controller with a gun just stared at these people. Humans, so audacious to plan an escape plan right in front of them. Was this some form of mockery? Whatever it was, that audaciousness would soon fade.

To learn that the small dog was one of the famous Animorphs made Richard regain some of his hope for escaping this mess. If they could just figure out a way to get him from being a dog to something more dangerous, then they might have a shot at getting free from their captors. Of course, rapid change in size might get them all killed as the Animorph pointed out to them when he spoke about it getting crowded in here. “I guess we are going to have to figure a way out of this van before that time comes,” Richard muttered.
Kiki’s question was something that made Richard begin to think, and there was an option that could work if everyone was up for it. They could try to rush the girl with the gun, which would get someone shot. Then they could have the nice dog boy attack whoever wasn’t driving, and then it would be cake. Obviously, this plan lacked finesse and logic as the other guy could begin shooting at them without caring if the woman was taken down or not. The English man brought up the idea that when they were being pulled out of the van was the best time to strike as there was no point in hiding their scheme from their captors.
Since they weren’t trying to hide anything from the woman with the gun, Richard figured that he might as well pop in on the conversation. “I don’t know about waiting until we get there to try and escape since we will have more guards watching our moves as we get pulled out. If we attempt an escape here, then some of us might make it out of this van alive. All we really need to do is cause them to crash the van or something to make it work.”
The likelihood of them all dying in a crash was pretty good under the circumstances, but like he said before some of them would survive it. If all else failed, then he could just kick the woman’s hand so that it would fire upward and then use his other foot to kick her in the face, which would eliminate one threat.

Ideas started getting tossed around for how to get out. Kyle had to hand it to his three fellow captives. They definitely were not shy about tossing around the plans with the yeerks able to listen in and know exactly what they were thinking. There was talk of trying to escape the moment the van stopped and the doors were open. Then more talk about how there would be guards and such, that they had to try and break out before then. They didn’t have all of Kyle’s cards on the table yet, so to speak, so he should let them in on the little secret the yeerks didn’t know.
<I have a team waiting to help me. I am essentially wearing a tracking bug in my human form. It’s an earpiece communicator, but they’ll still be able to track the signal from it. If I demorph it will bring them straight to us.> He paused before adding. <Just thought I’d let you know that we can call in the cavalry if you were interested in that. It might make escape easier than just trying to escape as the four of us.> Now all the cards were on the table. They all knew that the moment he demorphed, their location would be lit up like a Christmas tree on Eric’s map back on The Sanctuary. In essence, they had a little more help that the yeerks were not aware of.
Speaking of that… <Oh… don’t bring what I just said up out loud. It’s best our little friends in the driver’s seat don’t know about it. Otherwise they might force me to demorph and remove it and then...> Well, that would be one way to go about the escape. It was debatable how well it would go, though.

So our situation isn't as hopeless as it seems? Kiki wondered. Still pretty hopeless though. So what, they were just supposed to wait around until someone may or may not come to their rescue? Kiki leaned against a corner of the van and ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. Then she started fidgeting nervously with the hair sticks she was wearing to stop her hair from blowing around. I really, REALLY, don't want to be made into a controller again.Kiki looked up at the woman with the gun. The controller was smirking, happy that they couldn't seem to come up with a reliable workable plan. "This really bites," Kiki said to the woman, and her smirk only intensified. Kiki felt her neck again. The bleeding had pretty much stopped already, but the memory was till there. The way her captor had mercilessly used her as bait against Richard. If only she could do that to the gun lady, then maybe they would let them all out. Maybe. Even if she had a knife and managed to threaten the armed woman, there was still no guarantee that they would value her life over that of their prisoners. Especially since one of their prisoners was a known animorph. Heck, the animorph would probably be the better hostage... Kiki froze as a sudden surge of thoughts and possibilities flooded her mind. Is it possible? Can it be done? No time to think about it. There was no telling how far they were from their destination. If something was going to be done, if Kiki wanted to avoid being controlled again, action had to happen now. "Please don't hate me," Kiki said, almost inaudibly. Then in one swift movement, she pulled a hair stick from its place atop her head and lunged for the black lab, pulling it roughly in front of her and holding the point of the hair stick to the animorph's neck. She tried as best she could to keep the dog between her and the armed woman. "Let us out or I kill the dog!" The woman had anger in her eyes even as she aimed her weapon. "Stop the van!" she yelled up front. The brakes squealed and Kiki struggled not to slide forward. (OOC: Done to Kyle with permission)

I can't say I was expecting that. --
More ideas were tossed around. Elijah looked to the other man as he spoke, listening carefully. Waiting to escape had its consequences such as the Yeerks having back-up. Yes, that would be a rather big problem, though it was uncertain how much back-up the Yeerks would have. The man suggested getting out of this van now, which Elijah might have considered if he hadn't mentioned the part about some making it out alive, only some. He didn't like those odds. He wanted everyone out of this alive. The problem was that the odds were somewhat against them at that point.
And then the Animorph spoke. The fact that he was using a sort of telepathic speak with all of them was extremely fascinating to Elijah alone. How did he do that? Did it have a range limit? What sort of things interfered with that, if anything? This wasn't time for questions and answers though. The Animorph said that he had a team that'd be able to track his location due to an earpiece. They could call the team in and escape with them. That was probably the safest idea out of all of them suggested. To show that he understood and agreed with the idea, Elijah nodded his head at the Animorph.
... And then good old American audacity showed itself in a stronger form.
Elijah barely heard what the woman said before she attacked the Animorph? What the bloody hell did she think she was doing? Now wasn't the time to threaten the only way of escape! Though, when he thought about it again and before he opened his mouth, this might just work. Yes! Exactly! The Animorph was the most important to the Yeerk because of enemy status and whatnot. They were just humans. Absolutely brilliant.
But, he couldn't know that, or he couldn't look like he knew the plan. He kept his face completely surprised as the brakes squealed to a halt. They might just escape from this. It was an extremely bold move for the woman to have made, honestly. They were fortunate that the Yeerks actually wanted the Animorph alive. Had they wanted him dead before arrival, then things would have turned out a bit differently.

The lab’s comment about having an earpiece that could lead his allies to them was something that Richard and probably a lot of people would have labeled an ace in the hole. Obviously, they would have to keep that bit of information under their non-existent hats, but a smile appeared on his face as he thought about how easy the escape could be if they got a little help from a group of Animorphs. The only problem was when would be the most opportune time to spring such a trap, which would only work if the Animorphs had their own plan worked up. Of course, they wouldn’t know about the three other prisoners in the van, or they might know about them if the Animorph was able to send them information.
All of these weird possibilities is making my head hurt, Richard thought to himself as the others seemed to be taking in the same information that he was. Evidently, one of them came up with a plan that was a little unorthodox to say the least, but it did have its advantages. He could only assume that Kiki had a real plan for when they actually got out of the van since holding a dog hostage wasn’t really going to work for very long. The first thing that they needed to do was to get whatever weapons these Yeerks had away from them, and while they were at it Richard figured they could also take the van for their own purposes since their captors were going to be toasted by whoever was in charge of them.
When the van stopped abruptly, Richard was afraid that the force from stopping might cause something bad to happen like their furry friend get stuck in the neck. Fortunately, it seemed like everyone was still in one piece. “You do realize that this is the dumbest plan that you could have come up with. You might as well have told these guys to get out of the van and strip down to their undies.” Richard sounded frantic about what was going on, but in reality he was actually excited about how awesome this plan that Kiki had cooked up was. There was no way that these guards were going to be smart enough to figure out that they weren’t dumb enough to kill the only one of them that would be able to get them to a safe place.

To say that Kyle wasn't surprised by the sudden decision the woman had made would have been a lie. He did, however, realize just how intelligent the plan was. That didn't mean he didn't struggle a little on instinct, but he couldn't get out of her hold so eventually he gave up and just lay there. That probably was one of the main, or only, things that saved him from getting actually stabbed when they came to a sudden stop. There were some swear words uttered from the controllers up front, and one of the men said the plan was probably the dumbest one they could have gone with. Kyle found himself wondering if that was an act, and if all of his fellow captives knew exactly what the woman had figured out. The yeerks wanted Kyle, he was too valuable to them to risk losing.
However, something he’d just figured out might make their plans a little harder. <I’m out of time.> He told his fellow captives. <I’m sorry, but I need to demorph now, I’m not getting out of this form.> In one respect that worked in their favor. It proved to the yeerks that they had a very valuable captive, not just one they suspected was valuable. He just hoped that didn’t throw his female captor off. He didn’t want to screw this plan up. Even though him demorphing would bring the cavalry in, he worried what might happen to the girl if the plan failed.
Ever so slowly he started to demorph from his dog form. Paws expanded, the bones in them growing and reshaping as they became hands and feet. Front legs became thicker and longer. The same happened to his back legs, but those shot out even more. His tail was sucked up into his spine. Torso started to reshape, his ribs bending their position. This was the transition he most worried would throw the girl off. Fur began to receded, becoming skin. What hair remained lightened to a blonde color. Ears, eyes, and facial features shifted positions as his skull reshaped itself. It was only a matter of a few minutes, but the fourth captive was no longer a Labrador. Also, the signal from his earpiece would have been picked up by Eric onboard The Sanctuary. Things were about to get interesting.

Kiki cringed and winced when Kyle began demorphing, but he had warned her so she wasn't caught off guard. If she had been, Kiki probably would have shoved him away before she realized what she had done. But as it was, she merely tried not to touch him or look directly at the changes that were happening, all while still keeping the animorph close to her as a shield. However, it didn't work too well since Kiki had to make sure she kept the hair stick near his neck. And the sounds. Those were impossible for her to block out.
But now Kyle was human and Kiki had a much bigger shield to hide behind. And now she had a human jugular vein to aim at, which meant that if she did strike the animorph, it would be more likely to do serious damage. Not to mention the signal Kyle had mentioned would be broadcasting now.
Still, the situation remained tense. The woman controller was still aiming her weapon directly at them, as she had been the whole time Kyle demorphed. "You're bluffing," the woman said with a glare, but didn't shoot. Kiki hadn't yet decided if what the woman said was true or not.
One of the other controllers had taken this opportunity to go to the back of the van to offer the woman some aid. It was the same controller who had held a knife to Kiki's throat only minutes earlier. He had a dracon beam this time and aimed it at Elijah through the bars, then swept over to Richard. "Let the animorph go or your boyfriends die."
Kiki's eyes widened and she inhaled sharply. She hadn't considered this possibility. Would he actually do it? Would he kill his own prisoners if she didn't let Kyle go? He certainly didn't seem to worry about it too much back at the coffee shop. Richard giving up his freedom was the only thing that saved her.
And now it seemed this was her chance to return the favor...
Kiki glanced at Richard, then turned her eyes away. She couldn't bear to look at him or Elijah as she retightened her grip on the animorph. With a whisper she gave her response. "No."

It's either no one dies, or everyone dies. Not very fair, is it? Music --
For a minute or so there, the plan appeared to work. However, as the Animorph soon informed them, he was going to have to come out of his dog form. Space was going to get just a little tighter now. What would that do for the Yeerks though? Elijah doubted it would do anything, especially since they undoubtedly banked on the dog being an Animorph when they captured him. It would change things for them, for the signal from the earpiece would travel to the Animorph base. After that, they would need to stall.
There was no way the Yeerks were going to let all of them go out of the van.
The Animorph started morphing back into his human form. Bones were reshaping, fur disappearing. It was fascinating and frightening at the same time to Elijah; utterly amazing that humans could change form like that and have it seemingly not hurt, but rather alarming to watch all the same. Elijah kept his gaze moving while the Animorph was changing, looking to the Yeerks. The woman still had her gun pointed directly at the woman prisoner and the Animorph. That meant one thing then: she wasn't planning on putting that gun down at all.
That stood true after the Animorph had finished becoming human. Then, a bluff was called and another Yeerk had a gun, an alien looking one, aimed at Elijah and Richard. A bit of panic crept onto his face now, his hands going into a natural surrender position. That wasn't going to stop the man from shooting him if he chose to. Yeerks weren't exactly merciless, which meant that his fellow prisoner had best decide what she wanted to do now and quickly.
His eyes widened when she said no. At that moment, he expected to get shot with the gun or watch the other male prisoner get shot. But no, there was hesitation. There were no shots fired. But why? What did they need them for? They only really needed the Animorph to be alive, not them. Well, unless they really wanted to make all three of them Yeerks. Or, actually, they knew that if one of them was killed, the woman might actually hold true to her word and kill the Animorph. It could be that, but Elijah didn't know for sure.
They were stuck then, both groups. Elijah looked to the other man, then the woman, then the Yeerks. "Don' shoot," he said, attempting to keep his tone even, "Shoot and the Animorph dies too. You think she'd hesitate on doing that? She gave us up like that, and the Animorph certainly isn't as valuable to her alive as he is to you. So put down your weapon, and let us out."
The dracon beam was kept level. Elijah was pretty sure he could guess the next thought of the Yeerks now: if the Animorph didn't get out alive, then none of the prisoners would. So charming.

Samantha flew as quickly as her wings could take her, the eagle going at breakneck speed from The Sanctuary. She made sure that Jack was in her peripheral vision, the nightingale going probably as fast as she was, and the eagle soon focused on the vehicle where Kyle's signal was coming from.
She swooped down, thankful that the van was not moving, and soon she was able to demorph without the driver seeing her. She waited for Jack to demorph and she listened closely to the van, pressing her ear to the vehicle to hear what was going on inside. She knew that Ashley and Rue were going to meet up with them, but she hoped that some of the other Animorphs would join them as well. Sam would feel a lot better if they had more than just her and Jack going after the controllers and grabbing their friend.
From what Sam could hear, there were three controllers and four captives. Yup. Hopefully the other Animorphs would appear as well. Otherwise they could be screwed over. Sam turned to Jack, pressing a finger to her lips as she ducked down near the tires. If she could find something sharp to pop the tires, they would have the advantage and would be able to keep them all in one place. She looked over to the lead Animorph and signaled for him to join her. "Any idea where we can find a knife or a shard of glass?" she whispered, hoping Jack could hear her whether he went over to where she was or not. She did not want to be too loud and give away they were there, but then again it would be helpful for Kyle to know help was there.
Sam soon got up and looked around herself, scratching her chin as she tried to figure out where she would find something sharp. Her brown eyes focused on an alleyway nearby and soon she got an idea. She focused on her golden retriever morph, feeling her body slowly change shape. Bones reformed and changed positions, her nose elongated into her golden muzzle and a tail soon grew from her backside as she padded to the side of the van and placed her front paws on the vehicle. <Kyle, Jack and I are here. Ashley is on her way, along with a few others. Try and keep them busy as long as you can> she commented, letting her friend know they were here and soon she bolted down the alleyway in search of a sharp object. <Jack, wait here for Ashley! I have an idea!> Notes: Well. This post did NOT turn out like I expected. I think Sam's golden retriever morph has made her a little ADHD. 0.o....

I have a bad feeling about this plan, Richard thought to himself as he looked around at the occupants of the vehicle. They really needed some sort of window to happen in order for them to make some headway out of the van. Of course, a demorphing Animorph would have been an excellent distraction for them to take advantage of, but Richard had spent most of his focus to keep himself from puking at the sight of what the transformation looked like. Needless to say, he would know not to look at someone that was transforming into another form the next time that it happened.
If this wasn’t weird enough, the guy with the knife decided to pull the same tactic as earlier only this time it wasn’t going to work. Even if it cost him his life, Richard knew that as soon as Kiki gave up her ‘hostage’ that she was going to be hurt or something by their captors, and apparently so did Kiki who refused to give in to the man’s demands. This was when the british guy spoke up to try and get the guy with the weapon to put it down and let them out, so Richard naturally felt like he should speak up in order to accelerate their release. “I hate to break it to you, but using me as the hostage isn’t going to work the same as using her as the hostage. We’ve only known each other for about five minutes longer than we met you three stooges.”
It was probably not the best thing to help them escape the van by calling someone a stooge, but Richard couldn’t think of a more pleasant word to use in this particular situation. Of course, he was already in the crosshairs of someone’s weapon, so he didn’t have that much to lose by making such a comment. “I mean seriously! How stupid do you three have to be to think of locking us all in the same cage without searching us for possible weapons? You might as well let us out, give us the keys to the van and wave to us as we drive away.”
Maybe he was laying it on a little thick, but he was hoping to actually piss the guy off to the point that when the guy fired it would be simple to move out of the way of the actual blast. It wasn’t much of a plan, but if Richard was lucky then the guy would hit something other than a person that might assist in their escape. At the very least, he expected some sort of violent action out of the guy that would let Richard do something other than talk.

Jack and Sam had reached Kyle's location in mere moments. Thankfully they hadn't ended up too far away from him and he appeared to be in a van. Good, that meant they would not have to deal with many controllers. It also happened to not be moving, which was surprising but a relief all the same. They both landed close by the vehicle, demorphing back into human form. He could hear other voices coming from the van and it sounded as more than just Kyle had been captured. Sam asked him quietly about if there was a sharp object anywhere. Thankfully he realized what she wanted to do. She wanted to pop the tires so the van couldn't move.
Sam then morphed again into her golden retriever and ran down an alleyway telling him to stay put. "Sam.." he started to say but stopped not really wanting to raise his voice any or speak at all. They needed to wait for Ashley before they made a move. He could hear what sounded like some kind of commotion going on in the van but wasn't sure who exactly was causing it. He wasn't worried that they couldn't handle the situation, but it would be nice to have backup just in case. He stayed close to the back of the van, waiting there out of sight. Don't worry, Kyle. We'll get you out of there soon.

Well this was turning out just fantastic. Kyle was still a hostage and now the other two remaining prisoners were being threatened with death if the girl didn’t let him go. The thing was, she refused to do that. Not that he could blame her. As soon as she let Kyle go, she was probably going to pay for taking him hostage in the first place. If not with her life, she’d pay in some other unpleasant way. So they were essentially at a standstill, and Kyle had no choice to sit there and wonder just how this was going to end. Of course, the longer they waited – the longer things were stalled for – the more likely it was that this standstill was going to be ended by the arrival of more Animorphs who would attempt to rescue him.
Speak of the devil, he heard Sam’s voice in his head. <Kyle, Jack and I are here. Ashley is on her way, along with a few others. Try and keep them busy as long as you can> That was possibly a little easier said than done. He wasn’t really the one keeping them busy, and he certainly couldn’t inform his fellow captives of the fact that the other Animorphs had arrived without alerting the controllers to the presence of a threat. Chances were that things wouldn’t end very well if that happened. That wasn’t saying that things were going well at the present time either. The guy with the British accent was helping, or at least helping stall things. Maybe this would go alright without his passing the message on.
Then again, he could at least try. The girl couldn’t see his face, but maybe one of the guys could read lips. He really hoped so, and hoped the controllers couldn’t. Either way, he took a shot and mouthed the words, “They’re here.”

Kiki was thoroughly impressed by the mettle Richard and Elijah possessed. Had she been in their position, she probably would have settled for merely freezing up and hoping she didn't get shot. They, on the other hand, managed to summon the nerve to attempt to reason with and even provoke the very man who was threatening their lives.
The controller, however, seemed much less impressed by their actions. The guy with the dracon beam didn't shoot, although it certainly looked as if he wanted to. Instead he slammed his weapon against the cage in frustration a few times, then pulled some keys from his pocket. He started fumbling with them, trying to find the right one to open the back door, all the while cussing up a storm.
"Dapsen," the woman controller cursed. "Get a grip, Mektra! Nefla, you better get back there. Mektra's coming in." Kiki heard yet more cursing coming from the front seat as the third controller exited the front of the vehicle and headed for the back.
Just as the driver reached the back or the van, Mektra got the door unlocked. "The punk kids still think they can take us," Mektra said as he pulled open the cage door.
