I figure that with Xerxes being a rather recent recruit and all, he makes the perfect opportunity for some wiser and more experienced person (or people) to take out on a small, short mission. You know, to show him the ropes and all that jazz. On the job training. That kind of thing.
In other words, I'd absolutely love to have a thread with someone.
It could revolve around a simple task or quest. Like, "Hey Xerxes! We're going to go kidnap some Controller and starve the Yeerk out of him in order to prevent some fiendish plot from taking place!"
Or maybe, "Yo, Rookie! You're mission, whether you accept it or not because you don't really have an option, is to break in to this lab that may be connected to The One and find out allt he people who work there so we can track them later on. basic spy stuff."
Perhaps: "Xerxes, right? Hi, my name is ______ and you're going to be my partner for this little trip. Huh? Oh, yeah. We're just going to be hunting down a home-brew factory that the Yeerks have built on Earth in order to repair their Bug Fighters. One of ours just so happens to be missing the equivalent of the spark plugs."
Or even: "Let's go prowling and see what extraterrestrial stuff we can get into!"
(Any other idea works perfectly fine. Hazing much?)
So people can see what the new guy is made of. Or make him face reality. Or just sic some mundane task on him that someone else is too lazy to do. And I dunno, maybe it can lead to an extended thought.
Anyone up for a thread?

The bug fighter repair thread sounds like the perfect one for Kiki, and I am always up for more threads. However, we have already done two threads together and you haven't had a chance to RP with other members yet, so I will wait patiently to see if anyone else takes you up on your offer. I hope someone will!

Well, nobody's done so yet. Are you still up for it?

Of course! Do you want to go with the bug fighter idea, or did you have something else in mind that you would like to try? Also, would you like to start it, or would you like me to?

The bug fighter idea works just fine, especially if it is more suitable for Kiki. And it would make more sense for you to start it, since Xerxes is only a rookie and wouldn't be the one given the mission details.

Here are some thread suggestions! If anybody likes one, we can totally thread with it! Or if you wanna steal one for yourself and somebody else, fine by me! Idea %What's this? Have the Animorphs really been contacted by a Controller sympathizer? Does he/she really want to take the Yeerks/One down? This is incredible news! But we need to meet up with them personally, to see if they're on the level. This could either be an excellent venue to start up a new Yeerk Peace Movement or it could be a horrific trap. You decide! Idea #Oh no! Somehow, a plague has gotten into the hork-bajir valley! They're breaking out in really itchy red dots all over their bodies! But where this particular pox might only be an irritant to humans, it seems to be having much more serious effects on the hork-bajir! In order to save your extraterrestrial allies, a small team of Animorphs must locate a yeerk research laboratory or hospital in the hopes that they might possess some sort of cure for this! After all, they need to immunize their own hork-bajir controllers from this horrible human plague, right? Idea &I was just checking some of the Blade Ship's systems the other day and I found a few red flags. It seems some kid has been posting around the internet some disturbing information about his high school. Are all the senior athletes and academics really being possessed by aliens from outer space? Or is this just some bullied kid's way of acting out against those who try to hurt him? Idea $Oh this is neat! Ever heard of this particular church? It seems pretty cool--very open, non-condemning, preaching love and acceptance. It just wants to make people feel welcome and stuff, right? It just opened within this past year, but it's already spreading across the country. I think there are seven churches of it now? Anyways, it seems pretty cool. A few politicians and prominent society members have already announced their affiliation with it. So it can't be that bad. But maybe it's a little too good to be true. And maybe it's just a modern version of the Sharing. Idea @Recently there has been a string of grisly murders in the greater Chicago area. Reports have come in that each murder has been carefully orchestrated to appear as if a cougar or something has done each one. On an unrelated note, we recently accidentally broke through into yeerk communications for a few minutes, but it was just long enough to find out that a string of their more influential residents in Chicago have been murdered by animals. Clearly, these two events have nothing in common, but you should still check 'em both out.
Those are the ideas off the top of my head. Anyone wanna use one (or something similar, or even completely different) for a thread?

I really like the idea for the last one (although I would be up for any). Catching or finding a renegade, unaffiliated Animorph sounds like a blast!

Then we can totally do it! If you'd like, you can start the thread, as both of your Animorphs are more ingrained than Xerxes and Xerxes is still in the mindset of just being a good soldier and only doing whatever people tell him to.

I can try to start a thread tonight (if you don't beat me to it). I think I'll use Javier. He could either be there to lead Xerxes or maybe be there to observe how Xerxes leads? I think the second one could be fun, even if they never end up achieving their goal.

Ooo! I like that concept! I can see how things might easily get out of hand if Xerxes leads.
