Alrighty, here's Dean the 24 and 3/4 young Resistance Lieutenant. He's a world weary orphan turned firefighter turned soldier. He can be a bit of a broody stick in the mud at times, but once he loosens up he can be quite the handful.
As far as Friends go, Dean could use a few, but his trust issues run deep from a childhood spent as a ward of the state (not to mention the whole "War" thing). So other than that, the quickest way is to become pals is to meet him while he's in a bind (which happens almost constantly), because then he won't have a choice. Enemies? Heh. About that. Dean (when not a introspective loner >.<) can be a bit of a wise-ass. As such, it is a good possibility that he might rub someone the wrong way. Mix in superpowers and it would be easy for someone to want Dean hurt, or even dead (gasp!). Now, Lovers is a complicated no followed by another yes . One night stands are out, as are any type of relationship built on sex. Now a legit relationship could work, but it would be slow going. I mean...Dean's not against it as a rule, but he sees it as a very unlikely possibility. He's really only had one significant other in his life, and it didn't end too well...Not to mention that he has some pretty extreme trust issues. But, but, BUT. If you think you can handle his wise-ass-ness, his broody loner bull-shit, he would actually be a pretty good significant other. Any other ideas?

So plotting-wise I have the Bennett twins (Kyle & Ashley) for characters.
Kyle: Possible buddies if they meet under the right circumstances. Kyle is good at dealing with "crap", so Dean being a wise-ass and a little moody wouldn't bother him too much. I'd say if they aren't buddies they'd be on decent terms.
Ashley: She's 19 so she might be a bit young for a romantic-interest. That aside I think she'd take an opposite approach to Kyle. She hates being treated like a damsel in distress, so she'd possibly get annoyed with Dean and do everything she could to prove she didn't need his help... which could be interesting.

I don't have any ideas for Shiro or Javier right now, but I could see some interesting interactions taking place between Dean and Kiki. They seem very similar, yet very different in a lot of the same areas, personality-wise. I could see a respectful rivalry or something cropping up between the two. If they are ever in any threads together, it will be interesting to see where that goes.

For characters, I have both Elijah and Rue. I'll link to both of their profiles so you get an idea of who they are.
Elijah: One thing that the two of them have in common is liking Physics, which was Elijah's main focus of study when he was in university. That could be something that they could talk about, or at least break the ice with. Outside of that, their personalities would both conflict and get along. Both of them choose to distance themselves from one another, though for very different reasons. Elijah's also got some wit to him, so I don't think Dean being a wise-ass would bother him too much; might even influence Elijah to let out that side of him more.
I could see Dean getting frustrated with Elijah because of his extreme energy and rather positive attitude, but something more might come out of that? Perhaps they could fight together? That's the only idea that's coming into my head at the moment. I see them being at least able to get along if they meet under the right circumstances.
Rue: Rue's only about twenty-- there's a possibility of a relationship if neither of them minded the near five year age gap. Though, to even get them talking to each other would be interesting to say the least. Rue's more of a wise-ass than Elijah is and would definitely identify with him on that part. With his chivalry, it would depend on Rue's mood. She would probably like it most of the time and appreciate it. But, in the middle of a really important battle/mission, she'd want to prove that she can do things herself and not screw up. [/font]
