Frolis Manuevers A Decision Has Been Reached... We've come to a decision on frolis manuevers - particularly those used for human morphs - from what has been said in the discussion here. In general it seemed like the current members were mostly of the same mindset. The leaders need the morph, they've been seen and recognized in a couple of threads. The other characters - most of which are newer - don't need it yet. While it seemed like you would be reasonable about this, we wanted to be sure there were rules in place on the off chance that at some point we needed a definite way of saying no to someone who wanted the morph and didn't need it.
We liked Aly's idea of 2-3 reasons, but didn't feel like we could come up with 2-3 reasons for our own characters. We could, however, come up with 3 criteria that we felt we could accept the human frolis manuever morph being gained under.- A: The character is a former controller that the Animorphs freed. Or the character was captured, infested, and rescued.
- B: The character has been fighting for several years (at least 2) and is well known like the leaders are.
- C: The character's face has been seen by a Visser or Sub-Visser. Low level yeerks don't matter, becuase they probably see our faces on occasion when we fight them. It's sort of how the leaders got so well known.
In all three of these cases, the reason must be RPed out. It can't just be put in the character's history. So for option A, you must at least start the character out as a controller that the Animorphs then rescue and free. For option B, you must RP a couple different occasions of your face being recognized by controllers. For option C, the run-in with a Visser or Sub-Visser must be RPed out.
Keep in mind that the above restraints only apply to human morphs gained using the frolis maneuver. Frolis maneuvers done with animal DNA will be treated no differently than gaining a regular morph. The same criteria - as outlined in the morph rules thread - apply to gaining a morph this way. Just please keep the following things in mind- We're only allowing you to mix DNA of animals that could reproduce in real life. So mixing dog breeds to create a mutt is fine. Mixing a donkey and a horse to get a mule is also fine. However, mixing an eagle and a lion to try and get a griffin is not ok.
- You only get ONE morph out of this. Despite that you are acquiring two or more humans or animals, you are merging the DNA into one single morph. You will no longer be able to morph those animals or people individually, just the frolis manuever morph you got by mixing the DNA strands.
Thank you for your opinions and patience regarding this matter.
